Overview

The 2016 League of Legends World Championship was the 6th iteration of the tournament, held across the United States. It is widely remembered for the rise of wildcard team Albus NoX Luna, the "Miracle Run" of Samsung Galaxy, and the legendary Semifinal clash between SKT and ROX Tigers.

Tournament Structure

The event featured 16 teams and a massive prize pool increase due to the introduction of crowd-funding.

Regional Slots

Eight teams enter a single-elimination playoff bracket.

  • All matches are Best-of-five.
