Location Seoul, South Korea

LCK 2019 Overview

The 2019 LCK season was the eighth season of Korea’s top-tier League of Legends competition and a year defined by the contrast between regular-season dominance and playoff resilience. While Griffin consistently topped the standings in both splits, it was SK Telecom T1 who ultimately asserted control, reclaiming domestic supremacy.

The season also marked the emergence of DAMWON Gaming as a future powerhouse and recorded the historically poor run of Jin Air Green Wings, who suffered an 0-18 Summer Split.

Season Highlights

  • Spring Winner: SK Telecom T1 (3-0 vs Griffin)
  • Summer Winner: SK Telecom T1 (3-1 vs Griffin)
  • Worlds 2019 Seeds: SK Telecom T1, Griffin, DAMWON Gaming

Season Format

King of the Hill Playoffs

  • Regular Season: Double round-robin (Bo3). Top 5 teams qualify.
  • Sequential Bracket: 5th place plays 4th (Wildcard Bo3), then the winner plays 3rd, and so on (Bo5).
  • Finals: The regular season 1st place team receives a direct bye to the Grand Final.

Qualification Paths

  • Seed #1: Summer Champion (SKT T1).
  • Seed #2: Championship Points Leader (Griffin).
  • Seed #3: Regional Finals Winner (DAMWON Gaming).
