The Era of
Team Liquid Dominance
Season Overview & Narrative
The 2019 LCS Season was defined by the dominance of Team Liquid, who assembled one of the most expensive rosters in history to win both splits. It featured the legendary "Reverse Sweep" in the Spring Final and the cinderella run of
Clutch Gaming in the Summer, led by Huni and Cody Sun.
Spring Split
- TL 4-Peat: Team Liquid secured their 3rd consecutive title (en route to 4).
- Finals Drama:
TSM led 2-0 in the finals before TL reversed swept them.
Summer Split
- Clutch Gaming: Went from 9th place in Spring to Worlds qualification.
- Legacy Teams: The final year for
Echo Fox,
OpTic Gaming, and Clutch Gaming brands.
