NA LCS 2015 Season

The Golden Age of Faith and the C9 Miracle

Detailed Season Overview

The 2015 NA LCS Season was a year of dramatic shifts. It began with TSM at the peak of their power, winning IEM Katowice and the Spring Split. However, the year is best defined by the Summer Split, which saw the end of the "Link Era" for Counter Logic Gaming and the beginning of the "Golden Age." CLG swept their rivals TSM at Madison Square Garden to win their first-ever championship.

Meanwhile, Cloud9 faced their darkest hour. After longtime captain Hai retired, the team collapsed to 7th place, narrowly avoiding relegation. In a desperate move, Hai returned as a Jungler. What followed was the "Miracle Run"—Cloud9 qualified for the gauntlet as the lowest seed and reverse-swept their way to Worlds, defying all odds.

Spring Split Narrative

  • TSM's Peak: Bjergsen and WildTurtle led TSM to a dominant Spring victory.
  • Team Liquid's Curse: The "Forever Fourth" meme solidified as TL struggled to close out high-stakes matches.
  • Impact's Arrival: World Champion Impact joined Team Impulse, bringing an aggressive style to NA.

Summer Split Narrative

  • The Faith Age: CLG, led by Doublelift and Aphromoo, finally overcame their playoff demons.
  • The Gauntlet Run: C9 Hai shotcalled his team through three grueling Best-of-5s to steal the 3rd Worlds seed.
  • Team 8 & Gravity: Unique off-meta picks (Keane's Urgot/J4 Mid) defined the midfield chaos.
