NA LCS 2013 Season

The Inaugural Season: TSM's Reign & C9's Revolution

Season Overview & Format

The 2013 NA LCS Season was the dawn of a new era. It established the first fully professional League of Legends league in North America. Spring was a chaotic battle for supremacy that ended with Good Game University (GGU) making a Cinderella run to the finals against TSM.

Summer changed everything. Cloud9 entered the league and dominated with a historic 25-3 record, introducing a team-fighting style that the rest of NA couldn't handle. Team Vulcun also rose to prominence, challenging the "Big 4" (TSM, CLG, Dig, Curse).

League Format

  • Regular Season: 8 Teams, Quadruple Round Robin (each team plays others 4 times).
  • Match Format: Best of One (Bo1).
  • Rankings: Determined by Win %. Ties broken by Head-to-Head, then tiebreaker matches.

Playoff Format

  • Qualification: Top 6 teams advance.
  • Structure: Top 2 get Byes. 3rd-6th play in Quarterfinals.
  • Stakes: Top 3 in Summer qualify for the Season 3 World Championship.
