TCL 2023: The New EMEA Era
The Turkish Championship League (TCL) 2023 Season was a historic transition year for Turkey. Moving away from its former status as an independent Wildcard region that sent teams to MSI and Worlds, the TCL was officially integrated into the EMEA Regional League (ERL) ecosystem.
2023 Format Rules
- League Size: 8 Teams. Prior to Summer,
5 Ronin was removed from the league, and
Eternal Fire acquired their vacant slot. - Regular Season: Double Round Robin format for both Winter and Summer splits. All matches are Best-of-One (Bo1).
- Playoffs: The Top 6 teams from the regular season advance to a modified Double Elimination bracket. The 1st and 2nd seeds receive a direct bye to the Upper Bracket Final (the "Juggernaut" match). All playoff matches are Best-of-Five (Bo5).
- International Qualification: The top 3 teams qualify for the EMEA Masters to represent Turkey against the rest of Europe's regional champions.
