LCL 2022 Season Overview
Season Cancellation & League Status
The 2022 League of Legends Continental League (LCL) Spring Season began on February 12, 2022, but was indefinitely suspended after Week 2 due to the escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian War. On March 25, 2022, Riot Games officially cancelled the remainder of the Spring Split. Consequently, the LCL did not send a representative to the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2022.
The LCL has remained on hiatus since then and has not participated in any international events (MSI or Worlds). This marked the effective end of the CIS region as an independent competitive entity in the global League of Legends ecosystem.
