April Fool's 2026 Summary

Champions Summary

Patch Overview

Patch Highlights

  • Patch 26.7 is a smaller live-balance pass ahead of the Season Two update, with Riot focusing on high-skill support pressure, a few statistical outliers, and April Fool's content.
  • Fried Chicken King Swain, Bubble Bash Blitzcrank, Pug Trainer Sejuani, Choncc Kench, Surprise Party Vex, and Prestige Money Miser Mordekaiser arrive on April 1, 2026.

April Fool's 2026

  • Swain's Hot Chicken Rewards Program adds a limited-time free milestone track with icons, emotes, and Battle Pass XP available through Patch 26.8.
  • Non-ranked Summoner's Rift gets April Fool's chaos such as shiny minions, rarity-tier items, takedown hats, disguised units, and Dearest Karthus moments.

Champions

  • Cassiopeia, Kalista, and Rell get direct help, while Graves, Karma, Nami, Ornn, Singed, and bot-lane Veigar are pulled back.
  • Shyvana also gets an ultimate-haste fury rules cleanup, plus a Sylas interaction micropatch tied to stolen Shyvana Q damage.

Systems

  • Support farming penalties are fully disabled after the previous patch's reduction.
  • Riot expects normal lane dynamics to stay mostly intact, but support players should no longer be punished for catching occasional minion waves.

Autofill and Secondary Matchmaking Improvements

  • Autofill and secondary-role matchmaking improvements are now enabled in all regions.
  • The system is intended to create fairer lane matchups, such as matching autofilled junglers into each other more often.

ARAM: Mayhem

  • ARAM: Mayhem gets April Fool's additions alongside practical cleanup for augments, champion interactions, and shop behavior.
  • Poro Blaster becomes less punishing by limiting knockback at five poros, Void Rift gains a per-target cooldown, and Mayhem Shyvana's fury generation is increased.

Demacia Rising

  • Demacia Rising receives its final metagame update with Chapters 7 and 8, new objectives, new rewards, and the story conclusion.
  • Jarvan IV and Quinn join the mode, four settlements are added, and Level 5 town/resource upgrades plus new structures expand kingdom progression.

Ranked

  • Ranked compensation is improved for matches affected by disruptive behavior.
  • When AFK or trolling behavior is detected, negatively impacted players can receive full LP refunds instead of partial refunds.

Bugfixes & Quality of Life Changes

  • The standard bugfix pass covers Shyvana SFX, Mel and Zac cooldown interactions, Ivern damage attribution, Riven crit damage reduction, and lingering vision indicators.
  • Runaan's Hurricane, Practice Tool, Twisted Fate, and Swiftplay scoreboard edge cases are also cleaned up.

Upcoming Skins & Chromas

  • The April Fool's skin line releases this patch with Swain, Blitzcrank, Mordekaiser, Sejuani, Tahm Kench, and Vex cosmetics.
  • Matching chromas are also listed for Fried Chicken King Swain, Bubble Bash Blitzcrank, Prestige Money Miser Mordekaiser, Pug Trainer Sejuani, Choncc Kench, and Surprise Party Vex.

April Fool's 2026

Limited-time rewards and joke-mode surprises are the main non-balance feature set in 26.7.

  • Shiny Items (chance for completed items to be Uncommon, Rare, Mythic, or Legendary, gaining small stat bonuses and a shiny border)
  • Hats on Takedown
  • Certain Minions and Monsters have a chance to be disguised

Champions

The champion pass trims high-skill support pressure and several overperformers while giving Cassiopeia, Kalista, and Rell clearer power points.

BUFF
Cassiopeia icon

Cassiopeia

Cassiopeia gets more base mana and stronger Twin Fang damage after rank one, making mid-lane trading less resource-starved.

Base Stats

  • Base Mana: 450 ⇒ 480

E - Twin Fang

  • Bonus Magic Damage: 20 / 43 / 66 / 89 / 112 ⇒ 20 / 45 / 70 / 95 / 120
NERF
Graves icon

Graves

Graves loses early attack damage, reducing the reliability of his first clears, duels, and crit-heavy snowball patterns.

Base Stats

  • Base attack damage: 68⇒ 66
BUFF
Kalista icon

Kalista

Kalista's Rend stacks scale harder with attack damage after rank one, raising the payoff when she commits to extended spear setups.

E - Rend

  • Total AD scaling on bonus damage per additional stack: (+ 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% AD) ⇒ (+ 20 / 27.5 / 35 / 42.5 / 50% AD)
NERF
Karma icon

Karma

Karma's empowered E shield loses mid-game strength, making enchanter builds less dominant around grouped fights.

R - Mantra

  • Empowered E - Defiance Bonus Primary / Secondary Target Shield : 50 / 100 / 150 / 200 (+45% AP) ⇒ 45 / 85 / 125 / 165 (+45% AP)
NERF
Nami icon

Nami

Nami's W bounce is harsher at low and moderate AP, weakening the early lane pattern where one cast delivers both strong healing and strong damage.

W - Ebb and Flow

  • Bounce Modifier: -10% (+10% per 100 AP) effect per bounce ⇒ -20% (+15% per 100 AP) effect per bounce
NERF
Ornn icon

Ornn

Ornn keeps his crowd control and durability profile, but Brittle hits for less percent-health damage across the game.

W - Bellows Breath

  • Brittle Proc Damage: 10-18% (Levels 1-18) ⇒ 9-17% (Levels 1-18)
BUFF
Rell icon

Rell

Rell gets more consistent engage speed and higher ultimate damage at ranks one and three, giving tank support players a stronger counterweight to enchanters.

E - Full Tilt

  • Move Speed: 3s of 10%, increased to 25% when facing the empowered ally or a visible enemy champion ⇒ 15%, increased to 30%

R - Magnet Storm

  • Damage: 120 / 200 / 280 (+110% AP) ⇒ 150 / 200 / 350 (+110% AP)
NERF
Singed icon

Singed

Singed loses rank two and three ultimate stats, tying more of his mid-to-late-game durability and pressure back to gold instead of free level scaling.

R - Insanity Potion

  • Bonus Stats: 25 / 60 / 95 ⇒ 25 / 55 / 85
NERF
Veigar icon

Veigar

Veigar's ultimate cooldown is longer at ranks one and two, slowing the early-mid bot-lane snowball pattern Riot called out.

R - Primordial Burst

  • Cooldown: 100 / 80 / 60 ⇒ 120 / 90 / 60
