Patch 26.16 raises the cost of early support roaming

Riot increased the penalty for supports taking minions outside bot lane through level 5 and redistributed quest progress between champion combat and creep score.

Why it matters

Riot says very early roamers were functioning like a second jungler instead of meaningfully participating in lane. The change makes that strategy more expensive, but post-patch roam rates and quest completion timings are not yet established.

What the sources establish

  • Support quest stack consumption on champion or turret damage is now 18 for the first tier and 21 for the second.
  • Creep-score stack consumption changed from 15 and 20 to 18 and 21.
  • The outside-bot-lane minion experience and gold penalty changed from 25% through level 3 to 33% through level 5.
